The End Of The World

“The end of the world is nearing” is what people say. Many call it as hoax. But many do believe it is true and is going to happen. Scientists have been working upon this. They have discovered many theories that say the end of the world is in the near future.  The world today is becoming more and more technical and in a way the technologies sometime proves wrong. There are many prophecies written by ancient people that the world is likely to end during this time. People believe that this growing technology poses threat to the future generations. There are studies regarding the end of the world. Many scientists are into his. The theology or the philosophy that deals with the ultimate destiny or what we call the end of the world is scientifically termed as eschatology. Eschatology literally means the study of last things. The end of the world is predicted by various religions and they have their own theories to justify the end of the world. All the concepts like the messianic age or the messiah, the end of the world comes under eschatology.

We assume our history to be divided into ages. This partition is brought under consideration to denote an end of some reality and a beginning of some other new reality. It refers to a transition. So we may call it “the end of the age” instead of “the end of the world”.  This particular age is going to show how the end of life comes. After this, there may be a new reality born.  The end of the age may be because of anything. It may be due to change in climate or environment or due to any natural disaster or anything. It is quite tough to predict. But still there are many predictions regarding the end of the world. Some people believe in the Mayan calendar, and some believe the doomsday theory. In Hindu mythology it is said that the last Avatar of Vishnu, the kalki, denotes the world’s end. The ‘Kalli Yuga’ is supposedly the time at which the world comes to an end. All the lives in the world find its end.

There may be many predictions about the end of the world. But people do not realize its end; rather, they strive to prove their theory right. There are many theories suggested by various religions. The Jewish religion has its own eschatology. So does the Christian religion, the Islamic religion, the Hindu, the Buddhist religion and the Baha’i religion.  All that we can do is to live our today’s life happily and not worry about tomorrow. If the world is to end in this period, no one can stop it nor find a stop to it. There are many predictions that say the world will end by 2012. If that theory is true, there is very less time for us to leave this universe. The doomsday or the end of the world may happen in the very near future.
