Solar Flares In 2012

Solar flares in 2012 are one of the causes believed to cause the destruction of life on earth. The energy stored in the magnetic fields of the sun suddenly gets released making the plasma to explode. This is known as the solar flares. The amount of energy caused by such flares is catastrophic much more powerful than the explosion of billions of atom bombs. It also produces radio waves, gamma rays and x-rays. The solar flares are classified into different types based on their effect on the earth. The x-class is capable of causing huge radio blackouts throughout the planet. The m-class also causes radio blackouts but for brief moments. The c-class effects are never noticeable on earth.

The main reason for the concern of solar flares is the damage it can cause to the satellites. The communication involving these satellites might also be disrupted to a great extent. Since today, the communication is very dependent on these satellites; researchers fear the damage caused to the satellites might have very ill effects on the people. It would be a total blackout with no televisions, mobiles, internet, etc.

The solar flares in 2012 are most often accompanied by coronal mass ejection (CME). This activity is quite different from the solar flares. The CME actually is caused when the sun’s surface ejects millions of tons of the ionized gas. This travels a long distance resulting in magnetic storms. The main reason for the CME is the magnetic field of sun that heats the plasma thereby making the gases to leave the surface of the sun. It is also believed that these CME would not affect the planet to a great extent even if it manages to reach because of the existence of different layers of the atmosphere.

The predictions made by the Mayans and the latest movies tend to people and researchers to think of the various reasons that might lead to the end of life on earth. There are many such approaches like solar flares, shift in the pole, change in alignment of the galaxy, etc. There are suitable evidences of the possibility of extinction of life but it is purely our belief that aggravates this idea. The truth is that all these activities like CME and the solar flares cannot be stopped just like the climate change. It is the activities carried out by the sun necessary for its existence.

The solar flares in 2012 may turn life extinct since the activity of the sun being active every 11^th year. However scientists believe that this is not true since the solar flares occur every time within the 11 year cycle. There were similar solar flares in almost every other year and the year 2003 also experienced a major case of solar flares of the x-class. It was later studied and concluded that the CME along with a solar flare caused the high population of x-class flares. Since the solar flares have always existed with no major effects in the planet, the researchers believe that the chances of destruction of earth in 2012 are highly impossible.
