NASA’s Take On 2012

The NASA’s take on 2012 is very important since it is the most advanced organization dealing with the astronomy. There had been great responsibility on the NASA once the idea of world ending by 2012 has sprouted. NASA’s take on 2012 came out with a report showing the detains of the new magnetic field on sun that probably cause many solar changes leading to the destruction of the satellite enabled communications, power grids, air traffic and GPS. It also claimed that the latest solar cycle is a result of the knot of magnetic field that showed up on the eastern side of the sun in the year 2007. The report also has details of the time the earth will have this impact.

The NASA’s take on 2012 is similar to that of the Mayan’s prediction and it is thought to be coincidental that NASA also thinks the effects of the solar cycle will have drastic effects from the end of the year 2011 till 2012 leading to a complete destruction. There are other reasons like the anti-Christ movement, visits by aliens and their attacks on the humans, the galactic alignment, polar flip, etc. that many believe might lead to the end. It is therefore essential for NASA to prove that the world would really end and also give details on the causes.

The polar shift in the year 2012 is another major concern for the scientists since it might cause the deterioration of the magnetosphere. This magnetosphere is a layer of the atmosphere that protects the earth’s surface from the solar storms. Recently holes in this layer have been noticed. This makes earth an easy target for the solar magnetic storms which would cause major damage to the communication systems. These storms also carry some electromagnetic waves that might even cause radiation poisoning in humans and other living beings. The extra energy is absorbed by the earth rising its temperature causing eruption of volcanoes and drastic climatic changes.

Though people know the world would end by 2012, all are helpless since nothing can be done to postpone the end. All the causes that predict the end are not controllable and nothing can stop its effects. The solar cycle is a natural phenomenon that has been harmless so many years. But now, due to the dependence of humans on the communication systems controlled by the satellites, this phenomenon can cause a standstill in life.

Since the NASA’s take on 2012 is a total prediction based on many facts, the effects of the solar cycle are not entirely understood. It is impossible for the humans to carry out experiments or even study the nature of solar activity because of the high amounts of energy involved in it. Hence, there are chances of missing many of the effects it can cause. The possibility of exaggerating the effects is also there. Hence it is not entirely true that the life on earth would be destroyed. Therefore people are in a dilemma whether to believe the world is really coming to an end.
