Galactic alignment 2012 is one of the major events that might even end up in the destruction of earth. Since the sun is about half degree wide, the solstice sun in December takes half the time, about 36 years for precession with the equator of the galaxy. This alignment occurs once in 26000 years.

The Mayans are considered to be very brilliant and advanced races found on the planet. They have studied many of the astronomical principles and also believed the sun to be the centre of the system. They also had knowledge in physics, math, astrophysics and cosmology which were all very advanced in their period of time. Their predictions were right throughout and this makes people to strengthen on the fact that 2012 will be the last year for life. The Mayans strongly believed that everything had an end including the universe and time. This is because of the spherical nature of the time as against to the modern philosophy of time being linear. When this cycle ends, there would be great evolution.

The number of catastrophic events like hurricanes, tsunamis, storms, droughts, strong heat waves, earthquakes and extreme change in the lifestyle makes everyone believe that the end is near. The number of deaths due to these deaths is so high that few Christians also believe that the world is getting cleaned from all sins.
There are many causes for the end of the world in 2012 but the most important cause is the galactic alignment 2012. This is being studied and many researchers have focused their attention on this and the possible outcome of the alignment. There are also many speculations of how this alignment would cause the end of earth and life on it. Yet, many believe in the end since it was predicted by the Mayan’s longest counted calendar which has the last day as the 21st of December 2012 when the alignment occurs.
